Alligators have a short wide snout while crocodiles generally have a long slender snout. Alligators rarely attack humans, it's crocodiles that like to eat us. Only five hundred crocodiles live in the United States and are only found on the southern tip of Florida. Crocodilians have the most highly developed brain of all reptiles. Mother alligators lay between 20 to 50 eggs, guarding them throughout the 65 day incubation period and cares for them after they hatch. Adult males are the primary cause of predation on babies.
